Slice of Life Story Challenge Day 6-The Wicked Warbler
Vicki, my wife is a
naturally joyful person. A petite dynamo, she frequently breaks into song; the
words bursting forth with brio. No warnings are given, no media releases. She
doesn’t give a feather or a fig for the reactions of others. I know this, because she told
me so. She just opens her heart and
sings to the sky…
The Moment and the Song
She once shared the awful
truth that sometimes she deliberately sings the wrong words because she knows
it will irk the pedant in me. This news was delivered with a devilish laugh. I
could only smile. She is a somewhat naughty nightingale, or maybe a wicked
warbler. Today, her singing inspired these words:
She sings her songs
Floating on the lyric line
Humming those parts that
elude her
Belting out words recalled
Or defiantly inventing her
own
A songstress
Dedicated to the act
She draws comfort
From the joy of resurrected
melodies
Like the birds of early
morning
She carols blissfully
In this house she calls
Her concert hall
I love the combination of slice and poem Alan.

You are very lucky and she is too... she has a poem just for her, shared with the world

The alliteration in the slice was terrific and fun to read. The poem not only gave us a glimpse of your wife as she sings, but the pride and love you have for her came bursting through. Thanks for sharing it with us!
