SOL2015 March 13 -Molly Murphy's Monkey

It’s Friday and I’m feeling frivolous!

Poetry is never far away for me. So, when I woke up this morning, I consulted my child’s heart and decided to indulge in a bit of  frivolity. After all, it has been a demanding week.  So, some word play seemed in order.

This is for all those kids out there aged from 8 to 80… Who knows, tomorrow I may resume normal transmission. But today, it’s all about nonsense. Yeah! Let’s hear it for the monkey…

Molly Murphy’s Monkey

Molly Murphy’s monkey
Got a little bit drunk
He
Fell out of a tree
And landed ker-plunk
He
Picked up a banana
And ate a huge chunk
He
Then fell asleep on Molly Murphy’s bunk
He
Woke up sad and his spirits had sunk
He
Promised to be good and he never would flunk
He
Needed a bath ‘cause he smelled like a skunk
He
Was Molly Murphy’s
Drunky

Hunky

Chunky

Flunky

Skunky

Monkey
